Current officers and committee members
Bryan Stevens – President
I started playing for Fulbourn F.C in the late 1960s and was captain of the championship winning team in the 1970/71 season Premier League. Two operations on my left knee ended my playing career. Moved to Stevenage in 1972 because of work commitments and became a Class lll referee for North Herts for 20 years, but I was still involved with Fulbourn F.C while away. After work retirement we moved back to Fulbourn in 2003. I am heavily involved with the cutting and maintenance of the senior football pitches, also preparation for and after matches. Awarded the “National Grounds man of the Year 2008” from Cambridgeshire F.A. I am proud to be part of a successful amateur football club.
Richard ‘Dickie’ Drage – Chairman
Dickie joined the club in 1967. He was a 1st team regular for over 4 years and won the Premier League in the 1970-71 season. He played for the Reserves and the ‘A’ team and had a long playing career. He has also served the club as secretary and managed the 1st and ‘A’ Teams. Dickie has been chairman for the last 4 years and this is his 46th year with the club.
Robin Newell – Vice chairman/Treasurer
I have been involed in local football over the last 46 years. I am the founder member of the Tucker Gardner Alliance Sunday Football League of which I am now president and treasurer, I am a Torquay Utd & Cambridge City surporter. I was involed with Ida Darwin FC for over 30 years I have now been with Fulbourn for the last 5 years the best amateur club in [Great Britain].
Tony Hall – Fixture Secretary
I have been on the committee for approx 8 years. Marking out the football pitches. Assisting with preparing pitch prior to match i.e. putting out ropes, hoardings etc. And clearing up afterwards. Since Dave Bradford resignation I take minutes of the monthly meetings. I am also paid by FPC to clean dressing rooms.
I have always been a football fan as a child watching Cambridge City with my grandfather and my dad, also my future husband. Moving to Fulbourn 45years ago my children and I surported Ida Darwin FC we formed a ladies footie team back in the seventies good fun. Having watched Fulbourn FC over the years. I became involved in Fulbourn FC in 2006 becoming a commitee member also tea lady kit washer plus match day jobs for all teams.
Kevin Davey – Club Secretary
I joined the football club at the age of 16 during the 1990-91 season playing for the A-side, gracing the hallowed turf with such players as Fulbourn legends Dickie Drage, Dave Stevens and many others…that’s how long ago it was! I managed to impress enough of the management staff, who were obviously short of players back then, to slowly work my way up to the first team where I spent quite a few seasons and proudly captained the side for a while. I then gradually ‘played’ my way back down the ranks and eventually assisted in running the A-side. Although still a registered player my boots are close to being hung up for good and now find myself as the clubs fixture secretary helping out Tony where I can.
